I only wish I had 10,000 words worth of your attention to tell you just how many times Chrysler had the chance to become one of the worlds top automakers instead of what is left of them today.
They once had the talent to drive the market. Top managers. Top engineers. Motivated factory workers. Lean and hungry vendors. The attention of the public.
Somewhere along the line they started chasing the market instead of setting it. And so they will fail.
Unless…
Unless they can rekindle the spirit of innovation that saved them both in the early 1980’s and again in the early 1990’s it is over.
In fact, it’s really only a matter of time from here. Oh, the government may choose to prop them up with your dime but the Chrysler that I knew died 10 years ago. Most folks are just starting to catch up to the news.
It isn’t over just yet but I’m just not hearing anything coming out of Detroit that’s going to change anything from here.
R.I.P. Chrysler and thanks.

GM, which had lost almost $73 billion in the last four years, is coping with financial pressures that have forced the automaker to eliminate 47,000 jobs this year, shutter 14 plants in the next three years and sell, shrink or kill its Saturn, Saab, Hummer and Pontiac brands.

Considering my goal is to be a content provider, working from a home office, during whatever hours best serve me and my customers… I think showing up at the office in my robe and slippers might not go over so well.

The PGA Tour was once filled with players who understood how lucky they were to play golf for a living and realized that without fans and sponsors they would be trying to move merchandise in a pro shop somewhere. Today, the tour is filled with robots who take way too long to play, don’t interact with anyone, and give us no compelling reason to care whether they win or not.

I been so frustrated and disappointed by the number of people in my Twitter feed that have been simply post the winners of each award as if they are somehow breaking the news to the world.
I follow you not to get the news. I follow you because I am interested in your voice. I don’t need an news ticker on something as popular as the Oscars. I want to hear what the people I am interested in have to say about the news. And from that the news comes alive with flavor, color, and texture.
Please don’t simply try to be the first to report the news unless you are truly on a unique story. Something as widely watched and followed as the Oscars does not need a live ticker. At least not on Twitter.
Tell me your thoughts. That’s why I follow you.
Thanks.
